Mike
is the CEO of James Consulting Group and has significant experience
across a variety of industries including transportation, electric and
gas utilities, telecommunications, aviation, government, energy, insurance,
manufacturing, professional services, retail, distribution and high
tech manufacturing. Mike has held senior level positions in both consulting
and industry. Mike specializes in providing senior level technology
and business leadership, as well as advice and counsel to senior corporate
executives.
Previously, Mike was a Principal with Scott, Madden & Associates, a
general management consulting firm. Before joining Scott, Madden & Associates,
Mike was a Partner with KPMG with responsibility for helping shape the
KPMG Technology Management practice. While with KPMG he was instrumental
in creating a new service offering that addressed transforming the Information
Technology (IT) functions of companies.
Before KPMG, Mike was an officer at Sprint with responsibilities for
various billing, customer service, provisioning and marketing systems.
Mike’s organization was a major player in the product development process
for Sprint’s Long Distance Business. In that role, Mike was largely
responsible for streamlining processes that reduced the lapsed time
of the product development and product-to-market effort by about one-third.
The associated costs were reduced and the quality of the products, when
launched, was improved.
Mike was an executive with Carolina Power and Light with responsibilities
for their application development organizations. In that capacity Mike
lead the turn-around of the function. His organizations were recognized
via an independent, external assessment as having achieved World-Class
status in terms of quality of systems delivered, productivity and management
processes.
Mike also worked with Shell Oil, Price Waterhouse and IBM.
Before joining the business community, Mike was a Naval Aviator flying
jet aircraft.
Mike is a graduate of the U. S. Naval Academy and has a Masters of Science
degree from the University of Southern California.
Mike is a frequent speaker at industry conferences on IT organization,
transformation and management issues.
